Kimberly Pate’s Interests

One of my biggest passions is music. Not only do I enjoy listening to it every chance I get, but I love to dance, sing, and play the violin. I’m a lover of most genres of music such as Country, Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop, Classical, Rap, Techno etc. Some of my favorite artists are Keith Urban, Jason Mraz, Eminem, John Mayer and Lady Antebellum. I can always find a song to relate to based on my mood, memories, and/or life experiences. I have taken dance lessons ranging from ballet to hip hop since I was 5 years old. One of my favorite things to do with my friends is to go out dancing. Especially in the summer, I love going to live concerts. It’s such a different experience to see a performer live compared to listening to their music on the radio or on iTunes. My favorite television show is Glee. This reasoning is pretty evident to most who know how much I love music.

This is also the reason that I decided to be a Music Industry minor. I was able to do a marketing internship through the Music Industry department with Live Nation. This gave me exposure to types of responsibilities marketers have in the music industry and valuable experience for future marketing jobs.

I love summer time and going to the beach. Sitting in the sand by the ocean is one of the most relaxing places to be. I try to make time in the summer to go to the beach as much as possible and would love to live near a beach one day.

I also love to take pictures and scrapbook. It’s a fun, but more expensive hobby. I enjoy being able to look back and relive favorite memories in a creative way with my friends and family.
